Alcohol/Drug Abuse Prevention

Have you been referred for an alcohol and drug awareness education class? Alcohol and drug awareness education is critical in the prevention of addiction. This class is an 8 hour education class that is held in one session.  A test will have to be passed with a 70 or above to receive a completion of the course. The course

addresses topics such as:

  • Alcohol/Drug and Traffic Safety Problems

  • Texas law relating to DWI

  • Effects of Alcohol/Drugs on your body

  • Effects of Alcohol/Drugs and Task Abilities

  • Symptoms of Dependency for Alcohol and Other Mood Altering Substances

  • Stages of Addiction

  • Stages of Change

  • What is Recovery?

​

  • Other Topics can be added as needed
